How to Add Google Lead Ads to Mailchimp
Automatically add Google Lead Ads leads to a Mailchimp audience as they come in.
Before You Start
- LeadSync account (Business plan or higher)
- Google Ads account with Lead Form Extensions
- An active Google Lead Ads campaign
- A Mailchimp account with at least one audience
Step 1: Connect Your Google Ads Account
- Log in to LeadSync
- Go to Ad Accounts > Google from the left menu
- Click Add Google Account
- Sign in to Google and authorize LeadSync
- Your account appears in the table when connected
Step 2: Set Up a Mailchimp Connection
- Go to Connections from the left menu
- Click Add Connection
- Select Mailchimp from the dropdown
- Click Connect to Mailchimp and authorize LeadSync
- Select your Audience (mailing list)
- Name your connection (e.g., "Google Leads List")
- Click Update Connection
Step 3: Connect Your Lead Form
- Go to Lead Forms from the left menu
- Click Add Google Lead Form
- Select your Ad Account from the dropdown
- Select your Lead Form Extension
- Select your Mailchimp Connection
- Map your fields: Match Google form fields to Mailchimp merge fields
- Email (required)
- First Name → FNAME
- Last Name → LNAME
- Phone → PHONE (if available)
- Click Update Notification
Step 4: Test Your Setup
Submit a test lead through your Google campaign. The contact should appear in your Mailchimp audience within 1-2 minutes.
Troubleshooting
- Can't see your Ad Account? Make sure your Google account has access to the ad account.
- Lead not appearing in Mailchimp? Check that the email field is mapped correctly.
- Form not showing? The form must be part of an active or paused campaign.
- Wrong audience? Edit your connection and select the correct Mailchimp audience.
