Lead Quality — Improve Your Facebook Ad Targeting

LeadSync's Lead Quality feature sends conversion signals back to Meta using the Conversions API (CAPI). This helps Meta's algorithm learn which leads actually convert, so it can optimize your future ad delivery and send you better quality leads.

Meta's own data shows 19% lower cost per quality lead when using the Conversions API.

How It Works

  1. Lead arrives — When a lead comes in from your Facebook Lead Ad, LeadSync sends a hashed conversion event to Meta via CAPI.
  2. You rate the lead — Each lead notification email includes Good / OK / Poor buttons. Tap one to rate the lead quality.
  3. Meta learns — When you rate a lead as "Good", LeadSync sends an additional quality signal to Meta. Over time, Meta's algorithm learns which types of leads convert and optimizes your ad delivery accordingly.

Your data is SHA-256 hashed before sending — LeadSync never shares raw personal information with Meta.

Setting Up Lead Quality

Step 1: Connect via Meta Business Manager

Lead Quality requires a Meta Business Manager connection (not a personal account connection). This is because Meta's Conversions API requires the ads_management permission, which is only available through Business Manager.

If you haven't already, go to Ad Accounts > Meta and connect your Business Manager account.

Step 2: Enable CAPI on the Lead Quality Page

  1. Log in to LeadSync and click Lead Quality in the sidebar.
  2. LeadSync will automatically discover your ad accounts and pixels from your connected Business Manager.
  3. Toggle the switch next to each pixel you want to enable.
  4. (Optional) Use the Test button to verify the connection works. You'll need a Test Event Code from Meta's Events Manager.

Step 3: Rate Your Leads

Once enabled, every lead notification email will include three buttons at the bottom:

  • Good — This lead is high quality / likely to convert
  • OK — Average quality lead
  • Poor — Low quality / unlikely to convert

Simply tap the button in your email. No login required — the links are securely signed.

Rating a lead as Good sends a quality signal to Meta. OK and Poor ratings are stored in LeadSync but are not sent to Meta.

Manual Setup (No Business Manager)

If you don't use Meta Business Manager, you can still set up Lead Quality manually:

  1. Go to Lead Quality in the sidebar.
  2. Scroll down to Manual Setup.
  3. Enter your Pixel ID (found in Meta Events Manager > Data Sources).
  4. Enter a CAPI Access Token (generate one in Events Manager > Settings > Generate Access Token).
  5. Click Save.

Disabling Lead Scoring Buttons Per Form

You can turn off the scoring buttons for specific lead forms:

  1. Go to Lead Forms.
  2. Click the form you want to edit.
  3. Uncheck Lead scoring buttons.
  4. Click Save.

FAQ

Does this slow down my lead delivery?

No. CAPI events are sent asynchronously and never delay your lead notifications.

What data is sent to Meta?

LeadSync sends a hashed lead event containing the lead ID matched to the ad that generated it. Personal information (name, email, phone) is SHA-256 hashed before sending, following Meta's data handling requirements.

Do I need a Meta Pixel?

Yes. You need at least one Meta Pixel associated with your ad account. Most advertisers already have one set up. You can find yours in Meta Events Manager.

Can I use this with LinkedIn, TikTok, or Google leads?

The CAPI integration is currently Meta/Facebook only. However, the lead scoring buttons appear on all lead notification emails so you can still rate leads from any source for your own records.

I connected via personal account — can I still use this?

You can use the Manual Setup option. However, we recommend connecting via Business Manager for the best experience, as it allows automatic pixel discovery and doesn't require you to manage access tokens manually.
