How to Set Up LinkedIn Lead Gen Form SMS Notifications

Get instant SMS notifications when someone submits your LinkedIn Lead Gen Form.

Before You Start

  • LeadSync account (Business plan or higher)
  • LinkedIn account with Lead Gen Form access
  • An active LinkedIn Lead Gen Form campaign
  • A mobile phone that can receive SMS

Step 1: Connect Your LinkedIn Account

  1. Log in to LeadSync
  2. Go to Ad Accounts > LinkedIn from the left menu
  3. Click Add LinkedIn Account
  4. Sign in to LinkedIn and authorize LeadSync
  5. Your account appears in the table when connected

Step 2: Set Up an SMS Connection

  1. Go to Connections from the left menu
  2. Click Add Connection
  3. Select SMS from the dropdown
  4. Enter the phone number(s) to receive notifications
  5. Use international format (e.g., +1 555 123 4567)
  6. Add multiple numbers separated by commas
  7. Name your connection (e.g., "Sales Team SMS")
  8. Click Update Connection

Step 3: Connect Your Lead Gen Form

  1. Go to Lead Forms from the left menu
  2. Click Add LinkedIn Lead Form
  3. Select your Ad Account from the dropdown
  4. Select your Lead Gen Form
  5. Select your SMS Connection
  6. Click Update Notification

Step 4: Test Your Setup

Submit a test lead through your LinkedIn campaign. You should receive an SMS notification within 1-2 minutes.

SMS alerts include a short link to the lead's page whenever there's room for it in the same text, so it doesn't use an extra SMS credit. The page shows everything the lead submitted, with buttons to call, text, WhatsApp or email them and to mark the lead Contacted, No answer, Booked or won or Not interested. If a lead's details are too long for one text, the SMS shows their name and phone number with the link to the rest.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't see your Ad Account? Make sure your LinkedIn account has access to the ad account.
  • No SMS received? Check the phone number format (must include country code).
  • Form not showing? The form must be part of an active or paused campaign.
  • SMS delayed? Check your phone's signal. SMS delivery can vary by carrier.
